James White Award Now Accepting EntriesThe James White Award is now accepting entries for the 2003/2004 competition. The Award is open to non-professional writers who are invited to submit short science fiction or fantasy stories. The winning story will be chosen by a panel of judges made up of professional writers and editors and will be announced at Concourse, the 2004 Eastercon to be held in Blackpool from April 9 to 12 2004.

The judges for the 2003/2004 competition are:

James White Award administrator James Bacon said: :"We are honoured that these individuals have agreed to give of their time to adjudicate the award. It is a testament to the respect and high regard in which James White was held among his peers."

The James White Award, now in its fourth year, was founded to honour Irish science fiction author James White who died in 1999. The competition is open to non-professional writers who may submit up to three short stories of between 2000 and 4000 words each. The closing date for this year's award is January 15 2004. The James White Award is running a Quiz in the Exchequer Bar, in the Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, on Thursday 11th of September, at 8 o'clock. Entry is 20 per team of four.
