James White Award Announces WinnerThe James White Award for 2003/4 was presented during the 2004 Eastercon, Concourse at the Winter Gardens, Blackbool. The winning entry was Lost Things Saved in Boxes by Deirdre Ruane, a London-based writer originally from Dublin.

Deirdre's story was chosen from a field of over 100 entries from all over the world, including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

At the award ceremony, Christopher Priest representing the judges said, "I'm supposed to say how difficult the judging was, but in this case it was really very easy."
