Robot Festival in Dublin.

Tue 21st Jun 2005

Robot Festival in Dublin.Michael John Gorman is running the Irish Robot Festival, known as Save the Robots: here is the PR: In SAVE THE ROBOTS science fiction meets science fact as you experience the extraordinary evolution of robots. The fear of robots running amok and revenging themselves on their creators is one that has fueled science fiction from Forbidden Planet to the most recent big budget films like The Matrix and I, Robot. Now, thanks to this ground-breaking event (the first and largest of its kind in Ireland), audiences can enjoy performances, workshops, street theatre and an extraordinary exhibition that investigates the idea of robots in film, fantasy and art, and examines the question Ė just what is our obsession with robots?

Sarting on June 22 untill 2th July, there are a variety of Robotic going-ons from an exhibition in The Ark, Temple Bar, Robot Geese on St. Stephens green, a Festival of Art Robots in Ss Michael and Johnís Church, Building Workshops in The Ark, and Readings of SF in Meting House Sq, and if thats not enough the IFI will be showing Robot Mobies in a 'Robot Season'! Lostcarpark is excited!
