Advent Calendar 2025 - the new plan

So first, an apology. I have failed in my original plan. A nasty cold/flu thing sapped my energy, and I wasn’t organised enough to make it work.

The plan was to have initiative leads nominate people who have made an important contribution to their projects, and to feature those “People of Drupal” behind the doors.

Think you to all the people who made great suggestions, and thank you to the people they suggested who responded positively, but we’ve run out of time to make it work.

I still think “The People of Drupal” has great potential, and hopefully we can make it work if we start much earlier next year.

The new plan

So I need something really simple that I can do quickly!

Over the course of this year, I’ve been to some great Drupal events, and I’ve seen some fantastic talks. I’ve also seen some great ones recorded from events I wasn’t able to attend in person.

The new really simple plan is to share some of the videos of great talks I’ve seen. Some had great entertainment value. Others were amazing for learning new things about the amazing Drupal project. All were inspiring, and deserve to be shared.

You can still help!

Did you see a talk that really inspired you this year? Perhaps it was at a DrupalCon or DrupalCamp, or even a local meetup. If it was recorded (unfortunately there are a couple I’d love to include, but didn’t get recorded), and you think others would also enjoy it, please let me know!

If you would like to write a couple of paragraphs about what inspired you, I’d love to include your thoughts, but if you just share a link to the video that’s fine too.

The first door in the new format will open later today - as long as it’s ready before midnight my time, I’m counting it as a win.
