Welcome to day 4 of the Drupal Advent Calendar, and today we are joined by Mike Anello to tell us about one of his favourite presentations of the year…

Dr Christoph Breidert presenting

AI and Drupal in Action: Real World Implementation and Future Market Impact

Presentation by Dr. Christophe Breidert at Drupal Dev Days Leuven, April 2025

Dr Christoph in a casual sweater bearing the 1X logoThe rise of artificial intelligence has captured attention (both good and bad) over the last couple of years, and its impact on Drupal and its ecosystem is still evolving. Dr. Breidert provided an easily digestible introduction into both the dangers and opportunities that AI provides in his presentation at Drupal Dev Days in April, 2025.

Using a bit of humor and some real-world examples, Dr. Breidert covers a wide range of topics including the basics of AI, using generative AI within the Drupal authoring interface, retrieval augmented generation (RAG) assisted search and AI agents all while focusing on the importance of both controlling and allowing users to interact with your data.

This presentation is easily digestible for Drupal developers of all backgrounds, skill levels and specialties - not always something that is easy to achieve.

The presentation slides are available and contain some extra information.
